SRM 6.5 with NetApp SRA 7.0. Protection Group Creation Error

Recently onsite with a customer who was trying to configure VMware Site Recovery Manager Protection Groups with NetApp Storage we came across a seemingly strange issue. They were getting an error saying that there were ‘No replicated Datastores’ when trying to create the Protection Group.

Protection Group Error

At first this seemed odd as I had previously observed under Array Managers that  replication had been detected at the Device Level.

The resolution turned out to be due to the IP address/Hostname that the NFS datastore was being mounted by ESXi with was not the same as that set in the SRA for the data LIF.

To resolve the issue we changed the IP in section 4 of Edit Array Manager to match the IP as displayed on the datastore summary in ESXi.

For information the environment had NetApp Storage and was using ONTap9.1 P8. The NetApp Virtual Storage Console v7.0 had both the SRA and VASA enabled.
